9/11 First Responders annual family picnic
The Stony Brook World Trade Center Health and Wellness Program is an 501c(3) organization that prides itself on providing patient-centered care for 911 First Responders. When we first started our work with this very deserving population, we never dreamed that we would now be monitoring and treating thousands of 9/11 First Responders. We remain dedicated to providing a haven of health, healing, and renewal for the heroes we serve. Thousands of 9/11 responders consider us an extension to their family. We remain deeply humbled by this honor.
We are writing to ask for your support of our Annual World Trade Center Responder Family Picnic. In 2019, our picnic drew over a thousand 9/11 First Responders and their families. The Covid Pandemic prevented us from having this important event for the past two years. We are excited to bring back our Annual World Trade Center Responder Family Picnic this year and expecting a great turnout. Here at the Stony Brook WTC Wellness Program we understand the importance of having a day of community for 9/11 First Responders and their families. This day truly highlights the bond our program has with our members. We will be hosting our picnic at Heckscher State Park in East Islip, New York on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 1 to 5 PM.
Because of the Covid Pandemic, many of our sponsors and supporters, who usually donate Food, drinks, snacks and toys for young children, have been hurt economically. A lot of them have had to sadly back out. We are looking for new partners who can assist us in the logistics of running a special day for our First Responders and their families. In the years past, we have been able to provide a three hour service of a BBQ lunch consisting of Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, BBQ Chicken, salads, corn-on-the-cob, fruit, drinks and fixings through local restaurants and national chains (like Chic-Fil-A and Texas Roadhouse). Any ideas, referrals or assistance your organization can help with in the logistics of this event would be greatly appreciated. Any donations of food, staff, etc. would also be greatly appreciated.
We Do Better Relief along with Food Fleet will be providing full food service for this event. We are honored to do so. We will supply the food trucks, food, drinks and all supplies for the event. We ask for your support in this effort.
